Extend Sidewalk Along Queen St.
Extend Sidewalk Along Queen St.
To the Editor:
Yesterday, while driving up Glover Avenue toward home, I saw two boys riding bicycles and I didnât have to cringe and hope a car or truck didnât hit them. They were on the sidewalk! Hurrah!
It is such a pleasure to see people of all ages using the new sidewalks. I would like to extend my gratitude to Jay Maher and his team for their hard work and persistence. Your years of effort have paid off and we all, pedestrians and motorists, benefit from the result.
Now on to Queen Street! As a continued effort to connect our community and make it a safer, healthier, more enjoyable place to live, we must address the need for sidewalks along Queen Street. With its well-documented speeding problem, proximity to the Middle and 5/6 Schools, town-owned open space, and the soon-to-be-utilized Fairfield Hills, it is imperative that we continue this sidewalk initiative on Queen Street.
Iâm willing to do what I can to make this happen. Letâs keep this ball rolling and make sidewalks a part of the fabric of our town.
Sincerely,
Lisa Floros
