Donald B. Ferris

Longtime Newtown Resident

Donald B. Ferris, 78, of Newtown, died March 26 in Danbury Hospital. He was born in Danbury June 23, 1929, a son of Donald B. and Helen (Cartwright) Ferris.

Mr Ferris was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1947. He was longtime employee at Fairfield Hills Hospital and also farmed on the family farm in Newtown. He was an avid bowler.

He is survived by a sister, Marie Walker and her husband, Clifford, of Newtown; a nephew, Dale Walker of Newtown; two nieces, Darlene Spencer and her husband, George Andrew, and their children, Karla and Jeffrey of Newtown, and Linda Walker Uhde and her husband, Steven, and their son, Adam, of Sandy Hook; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, at 11 am, in Trinity Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Monday morning, March 31, from 9 to 10:30 am.
