To the Editor:

Many of you know my husband, Neil, from Newtown Baseball, Trinity Church, Valentines For Troops, Newtown Cultural Arts, various school functions, and many other Newtown events. Some of you know that he was appointed to the Police Commission earlier this year after Keith Jacob married and moved out of town. According to the Newtown Charter, he must stand for election this November to retain the seat and finish out the remaining two years of the four-year term.

As his wife, I know Neil personally, but I also knew him professionally during my time in corporate life. We met when I was working in New York. Neil includes everyone’s ideas when working on a team. He is thoughtful and considers all options before making a recommendation. He brings out the best in people and gives his full measure of devotion to whatever he does.

Neil’s current duties include operations director at a corporate Trumbull R&D Facility which employs about 450 people and involves management of a significant annual budget. In addition to working in New Jersey and Connecticut, Neil’s corporate experiences include England, Germany, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. Neil works well with people from all types of backgrounds and cultures.

As a member of the current commission, Neil is a strong advocate of traffic calming in the town, transparency in all aspects (and at all levels) of government, and continuity of the focus on trust between Newtown residents and their police department. I know if elected, he will continue to work for these principles.

To learn more interesting facts about Neil, you can read his biography which is posted on the Independent Party of Newtown website, www.independentpartyofnewtown.com.

To see the “lighter side of Neil” and our other IPN Candidates, watch our YouTube video www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYWmzQl-rAk.

I hope you will join me and support Neil and all the other Independent Party of Newtown Candidates on November 8 by casting your vote for them.

Thank you in advance for your support!
