Lawrence A. Capozziello, Sr

Lawrence A. Capozziello, Sr, of Newtown, died on August 2 at Danbury Hospital. He was 71.

He was born on March 8, 1933, to the late Nicholas and Esther (Hagan) Capozziello.

Lawrence served his country during the Korean War in the Army. Upon being discharged from the army he married Alicia M. Barry.

He was the former owner and operator of N.C. Capozziello and Sons for more than 50 years, retiring in 1995.

Survivors include his devoted wife Alicia of Newtown; loving children, Chris and his wife Lori Capozziello and Susan A. and her husband David Marcinek of Newtown, Patricia and her husband Carl Oberg of New Milford, Lawrence A. Capozziello, Jr, of Waterbury, and Michael J. Capozziello of California; dear brothers, Vincent N. and his wife Marilyn Capozziello of Milford, Thomas Capozziello of Florida, and John H. and his wife Fern Capozziello of Beacon Falls; dear sister, Regina A. Campolucci of New Jersey; and eight cherished grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard A. and Joseph A. Capozziello.

The Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, was in charge of arrangements.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 5 at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Cremation will be private and inurnment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
