Helen H. Kayfus

Helen Amelia (Hiza) Kayfus, 86, widow of Robert Lawrence Kayfus of Raphine, Va., and previously of Sandy Hook, died March 6, at her residence.

Mrs Kayfus was born May 9, 1925, in Fairfield. She was a daughter of Amelia (Yerkovich) and Joseph Hiza.

Helen retired from DuPont in 1982 where she was employed on an assembly line. She was a member of St Rose of Lima Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kayfus was preceded in death by two daughters, Elaine Stewart and Nancy Cohen; three brothers, Joseph Hiza, John Hiza, and William Hiza; and a sister, Mary Bodnar.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, a daughter, a sister, 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown at 10 am on Saturday, March 10. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
