Paintings Critique At SCAN Meeting

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have a critique of members’ paintings at its next meeting, on Wednesday, July 23, at 1:30 pm. The critique will be led by Hank McLaughlin of Stratford, and will be held at Newtown Meeting House (lower level), 31 Main Street in Newtown.

Mr McLaughlin will analyze paintings individually for both the strengths and areas of improving the work. This will be done in a constructive and helpful manner. The public is invited to sit in on this valuable experience. There is no charge to attend.

Mr McLaughlin studied painting with Robert Brackman at the Art Students’ League of New York City and at Mr Brackman’s house in Noank.

As a member of Connecticut Classic Arts and the Salmagundi Club, Mr McLaughlin’s paintings have won numerous awards. His art has been exhibited locally and has been represented by art galleries in new York and California.
