Margaret “Peggy” Frances Skillings, 84, of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died suddenly, February 14.

 She lived an active life within her Nunnawauk community and the Newtown Senior Center. Mrs Skillings enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and many caregivers. She loved taking bus trips with the Senior Center, especially her outings to Mohegan Sun.

She was known as “Ma” to her daughter Sharon Skillings Stock and her husband, Peter, and her son, Bob Skillings and his wife, Lisa; “Gram” to her six grandchildren; and “Nana” to her seven great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive “Aunt Peggy.” She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs Skillings’ family would like to thank all of her wonderful friends, neighbors, and caregivers, local VNAs, and the Griswold Agency of Bethel for all the love, care, and support they gave her over the years; and a special thank you to Bob Sharpe for always being there.

Funeral services are private. A memorial will be held in Mrs Skillings’ honor in the springtime. Information will be provided at a future date.
