Help Make This Christmas A Happy One For Area Children
DANBURY â For some children, the merriment and friendship associated with Christmas gift giving are not a part of their lives. Some are children of parents may wish to give gifts but are unable to because they have difficulty providing even the basic necessities of daily living. Others are the children who have been abandoned for a variety of reasons.
One group working to aid such children is Connecticut Childrenâs Services, Inc, an all-volunteer nonprofit local organization, through its Childrenâs Christmas Fund. For more than 25 years The Childrenâs Christmas Fund has been the primary local provider of new clothes and toys to 3,000 disadvantaged children in the 16-town greater Danbury area.
With Christmas, the traditional time of sharing, approaching swiftly, a tax-deductible contribution to bring joy to these local children is urgently requested, said Joseph J. Ubaghs, LCSW, executive director. âChildren assisted range in age from birth to 15. By making an early cash donation, donors can help Connecticut Childrenâs Services help the children the most effectively,â he added
New toys and clothes may be brought to the state regional center, at 400 Main Street, until December 18. Checks can be mailed to Connecticut Childrenâs Services, Inc, PO Box 2811, Danbury CT 06813
