To the Editor:
Our world is so beautiful, yet so destructive. Our town government has accomplished much, yet is subject to strong criticism. Why would anyone in their right mind want to be a candidate for any one of the townâs elective offices is beyond my comprehension. But, I was pleasantly surprised at the response from Joe Hemingway, who is running for a seat on the council, when I asked why are you running? Without hesitation Joe said, âI believe there is a need to be positive, a need to respect each other, and a need for the council to work together.â
In my working with Joe I judge that he has two personal strengths which will enable him to be a very productive councilman. They are: His keen sensitivity toward the needs of others and high degree of stress tolerance. It is indeed refreshing to have a candidate who will work toward building rather than tearing down. The electors of the Second District are fortunate to have a candidate with a bright outlook and should give Joe Hemingway serious consideration. Newtown needs to move forward.
Sincerely,
Al Cramer
