42nd Annual SCAN Spring Juried Art Show continues, 11 am–5 pm, C.H.  “End-Stage Dementia and Hospice,” noon, Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, lunch at noon, program at 1, free presentation by Linda Pinkney (nurse liaison, Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT) will cover common symptoms that are indicative of end-stage dementia and how hospice can help patients and caregivers, reservations requested; 203-702-7400.

38th Annual Rocking Rooster 5K Run/Walk, 8 am, begins from and returns to Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street, $20 adults, $15 students in advance, $25 and $20 day of, 3.1 mile course goes through portion of Fairfield Hills including trials, family friendly event for all ages and abilities, hosted by Newtown Parks & Recreation, proceeds to benefit Newtown Scholarship Association; 203-270-4340.

Pavlides Family Scholarship Tag Sale, 8 am–-3 pm, Lowery residence, 6 Brandywine Trail, tag sale and lemonade stand will raise funds for scholarship fund established to encourage entrepreneurship for Temple University students, honoring late brother and father of Elizabeth Lowery.
