Light The Night For Leukemia
Light The Night For Leukemia
Newtown residents Ginny Chion, Beth Montoya, and Marg Studley are organizing a team to walk in the Light the Night for Leukemia walk on Friday, October 1, at Trumbull High School.
The walk is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societyâs annual fall event held in communities throughout the United States to raise money for blood cancer research and patient services. Walkers carry illuminated balloons, each one a beacon of hope for the millions of people affected by cancer.
The walk commemorates lives touched by cancer, and individuals and teams are welcome to participate. Every five minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma. Every nine minutes, someone loses the fight.
Registration at the Trumbull walk begins at 6 pm; the walk begins at 7:20 pm.
