A Beautiful And Special Day
A Beautiful And Special Day
To the Editor,
We attended our granddaughterâs First Holy Communion on May 6, 2000 at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown. The service was one of joy and gladness.
Pastor Bob Weiss conveyed to the children the wonderful event they were about to experience.
He explained that there were three kinds of bread: Our daily bread that is the food we eat, the âbreadâ that is money used to buy things and finally, the bread of heaven, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Father Bob proceeded to throw money up into the air to show the children that money is not the most important bread. The most important bread is the bread of angelsâ¦Panis Angelicus.
Father Bob concluded the service by having the children stand on the seats of the pews, elevating their hearts and souls to God, and confirming their importance and self-worth in the eyes of our Lord.
The music throughout was lively and upbeat, perfectly complimenting the spirit of the service.
On behalf of the entire family of Chelsea Sabia, I would like to extend our thanks to Father Bob for making First Holy Communion the beautiful and special day that it was.
Mrs. Louise Sabia
