Light Jazz, Sunday At St Rose

The music ministry of St. Rose Church invites the public to “Bolling You Over,” an afternoon concert that will feature the musical suites of the composer and pianist Claude Bolling.

The performance of light-hearted chamber music with a touch of jazz will be performed Sunday, October 5, at 4 pm, at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown. Donation is $10, and proceeds will benefit the St Rose Choir Musical Pilgrimage of 2005 to Italy and Vatican City.

Sunday’s program will feature excerts from Suites #1 and #2 for Flute and Jazz Piano, Suite for Classical Guitar and Jazz Piano and Picnic Suite for Flute, Classical Guitar, and Jazz Piano.

Musicians will include the pianist Joseph Jacovino, Jr, the guitarist Andrew Lafreniere, and the flutist Dr Kerry Walker, along with members of the Western CT State University music faculty.
