Playing For A Cure
Playing For A Cure
To the Editor:
On Thursday, October 2, the Newtown High School Field Hockey team played their games against New Fairfield to Play For A Cure For Breast Cancer. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the local businesses that donated items to sell and raffle that day.
Thank you to Wesco Sports in Brookfield for donating a field hockey equipment bag, Iovinoâs Sporting Goods for donating a sweatshirt and windbreaker, Newtown HS Football for donating two stadium seats and car magnets, Mr Hadgraft of Pepsi for all the soda, Dunkinâ Donuts for coffee and Carminuccioâs Pizza for delivering the many pizzas that were eaten that night! Another thank you goes to Erin at the American Cancer Society of Wilton for their donation of pins and pens to sell at the game.
We would also like to thank the field hockey athletes and their parents for the baked goods, decorations, and time spent working at this event.
Through the kindness and generosity of all of you, we raised over $2,100 that we have donated to the American Cancer Society this week. Most of us know someone whose life has been touched by cancer and we hope that our donation will help to find the cure.
On behalf of the entire Newtown High School Field Hockey Team, we thank you.
Sincerely,
The Captains
Taylor Barry, Alyssa Carey,
Jackie Isabella, Linda Magliocco
