SCOTTS VALLEY, CALIF — Slawinski Auction Company will hold its annual Memorial Day Estates Auction on May 26 at 10 am. More than 650 lots will be auctioned from the gallery, including a mixture of Eighteenth–Twentieth Century furniture, paintings, fine jewelry, Asian decorative, vintage rock posters, an assortment of antique and modern dolls and fine silver.

Highlights of the sale include a Northern Italian Eighteenth Century Kingwood desk inlaid with ivory, possible from Piffetti and Prinotto. The desk was found in a local Santa Cruz home and the heirs believed that their mother purchased the desk in the 1950s in Beverly Hills.

Other furniture includes a Amboyna inlaid center table with ivory, abalone, exotic wood detail circa 1830; a George II burl gentleman’s chest-on-chest; a French provincial inlaid library table with rooster and fox; an early Nineteenth Century French cherry vaissellier; an outstanding American carved oak mantel with full body griffins; and monumental French gilt wall mirror with swan carvings.

Slawinski Auction Company will also sell a Dirk Van Erp hammered copper lamp with 20-inch shade, an early California Redwood mirrored back sideboard, a unique French bronze 9-inch humidor, a Japanese bronze statue of lion, early Meissen figures, a Swiss music box chair and a musical cylinder box in oak.

Then there will be several clocks, including a Seth Thomas maple inlaid tall case clock and a French bronze marble clock, early paintings with Boston stamped on canvas, a Sixteenth Century Samurai sword and Worchester Eighteenth Century dinner service.

Also being sold at the suction will be a large antique and modern doll collection that includes Simon Halbig; Lenci; S&A Clark; Tete Jumeau; Kaihi Jackson; Steiner Paris; R John Wright and Julie Rueger.

Vintage rock posters will also be offered, including many from “Bill Graham Presents.” Highlights include a 1966 Hell’s Angeles dance poster from Sokol Hall and a Grateful Dead vintage poster.
