Jo Ann J. Johnson

Enjoyed Four Seasons Mirage Community

Jo Ann J. Johnson, 58, formerly of Sandy Hook, died August 11 of a massive coronary in Barnegat, N.J. She was the wife of William G. “Bill” Canfield, a 12th generation descendent of the Glover family.

Ms Johnson and her husband moved to Four Season Mirage in Barnegat seven years ago from Hillsborough, N.J. She retired three years ago from ITT, in Nutley, N.J., where she was an industrial engineer.

Ms Johnson enjoyed her memberships as chairperson of the canasta tournaments, as Queen Mum of the Red Hat Society, as a member of the Mirage newspaper staff, and as a member of the Emergency Management Committee there.

Her husband of 36 years survives Ms Johnson, as does a sister, Sandra B. Berwaldt; and a niece and nephew, Susie B. and Mickey Berwaldt.

Funeral services were held August 13 at the Barnegat Funeral Home. Cremation will be private.
