Car Show & Sock Hop, Saturday At Ashlar
The Classic Nights Car Club of Monroe will host their Seventh Annual âGoing Back in Timeâ Classic Car Show and Sock Hop on Saturday, August 9, from 11 am to 2 pm, at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road.
Admission is free. Music will be provided by local DJs Seth Carley and Mark Edwards.
Visitors will be welcome to stroll the grounds and meet the owners of the unique classic and antique cars on display. Guests will also be invited to use a ballot they receive upon arrival to vote their your favorite classic to receive the Peoplesâ Choice Award. First, second and third place trophies will be presented to the selected winners.
Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization of volunteers, will also be at the show, helping to raise public awareness about former racing greyhounds. Greyhounds can be adopted through the organization, and a few of the groupâs dogs will be in attendance at the show.Â
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Tours of Ashlar of Newtown and the adjacent assisted living facility, Lockwood Lodge, will be offered.
For local classic car owners who would like to enter their car into competition, registration is not required. The cutoff manufacture date is 1980. Each of the first 50 cars to arrive at Ashlar will receive a commemorative dash plaque.
In the event of inclement weather, the show will be cancelled, and there is no rain date scheduled.
