‘CONTEMPORARY COLLABORATIONS’ AT PORTLAND MUSEUM MAY 24

AVV 4-7 #734797

PORTLAND, MAINE — The Portland Museum of Art will present the exhibition “Contemporary Collaborations: Artist and Master Printer,” on view May 24–August 10.

Guest curated by print collector Bruce Brown, this exhibition will feature 23 prints by 18 living artists with Maine connections who have created significant prints in concert with technical specialists at professional fine art print presses. Artists in this exhibition have created prints at workshops such as Tyler Graphics, Gemini GEL, and the Tamarind Institute, as well as at smaller presses from Vinalhaven, Maine, to New York and beyond.

Prints by artists in the museum’s permanent collection include Lesley Dill, David Driskell, Yvonne Jacquette and Tim Rollins. Numerous works on loan from collectors, presses and the artists themselves — including Jonathan Borofsky, Richard Estes, Anna Hepler, Adriane Herman, and John Walker —will round out the show.

The museum is downtown at the corner of High and Congress Streets. For information, www.portlandmuseum.org or 207-775-6148.
