UNIONVILLE, CONN. — The American Political Items Collectors (APIC) of the J. Doyle Dewitt Connecticut Chapter will hold an exhibition and open show free to its members and the public on Saturday, May 3, from 9 am to noon at the Union School.

Chapter president Frank Corbeil invites visitors to see campaign exhibits of 2008 national candidate’s campaign items along with rare memorabilia of campaigns past, including presidents Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, Ford, Carter and the Bush family. “It will give everyone a chance to see what national campaign items are currently available to trade, buy or sell and add to collections pertaining to historical activities of the times,” he said.

Some 20 dealers from Connecticut and surrounding states will show famous national and local buttons and items. There will also be advertising collectibles, movie stars, cowboys and Disney items and collectible space type and World War I and World War II memorabilia.

APIC members will have free “starter kits” available for new collectors to the hobby and since many of the dealers are professional collectors of the APIC, free appraisals will be offered to persons bringing buttons and related items for pricing.

Union School is on School Street. For more information, contact chapter president Frank Corbeil at 860-673-1787 or Bill Tyszka chapter secretary at 860-658-6198.
