Fairfield Hills Coalition Info Meeting
Fairfield Hills Coalition Info Meeting
Newtown residents Joe DeMaida and Frank Cooper will be the guest speakers at next Thursdayâs informational meeting put on by the âSave Fairfield Hills for Newtownâ coalition.
Mr DeMaida manages the municipally owned Richter Park in Danbury. He will explain how the Richter Park Authority was organized and how it manages and continuously develops the Richter Park Golf Course, now considered one of the premier courses in the country.
Mr Cooper is deputy director of the Hamden Parks & Recreation Department. He will describe the assistance he has provided for other towns in developing plans for recreational uses.
Both are considered invaluable resources in helping the town determine how best to manage the land â if and when it purchases the 186-acre campus currently on the stateâs trading block.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 pm in the Memorial Room of the Congregational Church House on Main Street. There will be time for questions and answers.
The âSave Fairfield Hills for Newtownâ coalition has proposed that the town consider the establishment of a Fairfield Hills Authority to control the development of Fairfield Hills and to be responsible for its management.
