Anne Hoitko

Active Bethel Senior Center Member

Anne Hoitko, 88, of Newtown, died at her home March 5. She was the widow of Michael Hoitko, Sr. Mrs Hoitko was born March 1, 1921, in Lakewood, Ohio, a daughter of George and Anna (Semanik) Kenney.

She moved to Danbury after high school, and in 1958 she married and moved to Bethel. In 1973, they moved to Newtown where she worked as a receptionist for Dr Abriola for many years.

She enjoyed painting landscapes and flowers, and she was very active in the Bethel Senior Center, especially making the quilt for the annual raffle. Mrs Hoitko was a parishioner of St Nicholas Church in Danbury and was a member of the ladies guild.

She is survived by her son, Michael, of Newtown; a sister, Mary Kowelski of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel, March 9.
