‘Excellence In History’ Award

Newtown High School senior Kyra Middeleer has been awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Excellence in History award for outstanding work in American history, as the organization announced recently.

Kyra was recognized for outstanding work in American history and was awarded a bronze medal and certificate by the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The DAR perpetuates the memory and spirit of the men and women who won American independence. Any woman over 18 who can prove an ancestor served in the American Revolution is a prospective member. For more information on DAR visit www.sarahriggshumphreysDAR.org.
