A Good Suggestion Ignored
A Good Suggestion Ignored
To the Editor:
After reading Po Murrayâs letter two weeks ago in the paper, I was disappointed to hear that our local leadership did not seem to have any interest in learning more about the Connecticut Coalition for Justice in Education Funding (CCJEF).
While it certainly is not a guarantee of money, it seems that anything that might alleviate part of our tax burden is worth some amount of effort from both the Board of Education and the selectmanâs office.
As a supporter of the last two budget votes, I believe that education of our children is an important step toward a brighter future for this country. However, I do not think any of us wants to continuously see our taxes rise with no effort to look at alternative solutions. The leadership in our town owes it to the taxpayers to look at any effort that might relieve us of part of this burden in the future.Â
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Jacob
