Newtown Bridle Lands Association Events
The Newtown Bridle Lands Association (NBLA) announces events for month of August as follows:
Saturday, August 14 from 10 am to 1 pm, the NBLA presents a Saddle Fitting Clinic at Long Meadow Farm, 34 Meadowbrook Road with Karen Withstandley of The Refined Equine, LLC.
Withstandley will give a lecture/demonstration about saddle fitting.
Learn how saddle fit effects equine health and movement. Find out if your saddle fits, pinches, or wobbles on your horse. Spectators are welcome.Â
Tuesday, August 17 at NBLAâs regularly scheduled Open Meeting, the guest speaker will be Centered Riding Instructor & Clinician Level III Jami Wallace with a Centered Riding on Ground Clinic. Wallace will take you through a series of exercises showing how to use the four basics of Centered Riding: centering, soft eyes, building blocks, and breathing, which allow you to find grounding. Participants will use an exercise ball, a trampoline, a bridle, and feet. Wear comfortable clothing. Open Meetings are held at the Newtown Meeting House (lower level), Main Street at the flagpole. For information, call 203-426-7722.
NBLAâs Frost on the Pumpkin Hunter Pace is on the schedule for October 31.
The NBLA is a nonprofit volunteer organization which has worked since 1978 to foster an interest in horseback riding as well as to preserve, protect and maintain hiking trails in our community. New members are always welcome.
