Helen N. Hanlon, 88, died February 9, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Fla., surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 25, 1922, to Jenny and Alexander Lescrynski, in Sherman, where she was also raised.
She met and married George F. Hanlon in 1961 and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
The Hanlons lived in Newtown for many years, and Mrs Hanlon worked for several years at S. Curtis & Sons in Sandy Hook. She was also a caregiver at Southbury Training School in Southbury.
They resided in Barefoot Bay, Fla., where they had many friends and enjoyed spending time at the pool. Mrs Hanlon adored her family, and spending summers in Connecticut.
Her husband; a son, George Nelson, and his wife Linda; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; eight siblings; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends survive Mrs Hanlon. Her parents and six siblings predeceased her.
A graveside service took place February 11 at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay, Fla.
