AIPAD PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW TO DEBUT DEC. 5 IN MIAMI w/1 cut

MIAMI, FLA. — The Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) will debut a new art fair, The AIPAD Photography Show Miami, from Wednesday, December 5, through Sunday, December 9.

More than 45 leading fine art photography galleries will present a wide range of museum-quality work by Nineteenth Century, Modern and contemporary masters. The exhibition will be held at a tented venue at NW 31st Street and North Miami Avenue in Miami’s Wynwood Art District. The new art fair will run concurrently with Art Basel Miami Beach, as well as numerous other art fairs during the week. The show will open with an invitational preview Tuesday, December 4.

“We are delighted to announce this new fair in Miami that will further highlight the tremendous collective knowledge, scholarship and expertise of AIPAD dealers,” said Robert Klein, president, AIPAD, and president, Robert Klein Gallery in Boston.

“More and more collectors are adding Miami in December to their calendars.” He said. “As a result, we were getting calls from photography collectors asking us to come to Miami so that they could have access there to a focused exhibition of the most important photographic works available on the market.”

AIPAD is well known for its New York Art Fair, The AIPAD Photography Show New York, held at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. The new dates for the 28th edition of the fair in New York are April 10–13.

Miami exhibitors include Nailya Alexander, New York City; Stephen Cohen Gallery, Inc, Los Angeles, Calif.; Czech Center of Photography, Prague, Czech Republic; Jackson Fine Art, Atlanta; Galerie Priska Pasquer, Cologne, Germany; Lisa Sette Gallery, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Galerie Zur Stockeregg, Zurich, Switzerland.

Photographs from many important artists working today will be on view including works by Edward Burtynsky, Jen Davis, Brian Finke, David Lachapelle, David Levinthal, Alex S. MacLean, William Wegman, Joel-Peter Witkin and more. Work from Twentieth Century artists includes Diane Arbus, Eugene Atget, Imogen Cunningham, Andre Kertesz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Edward Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Weston.

Show hours will be Wednesday, 10 am to 3 pm; Thursday, Friday and Saturday, noon to 7 pm; and Sunday, noon to 6 pm. Admission is $10.
