Bluebird Nest Box Workshop

DERBY — The public is invited to welcome the coming of spring at Kellogg Environmental Center by participating in a workshop called “Woodworking for Wildlife” on Saturday, February 17, from 11 am to 12:30 pm.

All ages are invited to learn methods of conservation they can use in their own backyard to encourage bluebird habitat and population growth. Every household will be able to make a blue bird house to take home.

Participants will also learn how to monitor their birdhouse as part of ongoing research on the population of bluebirds in our state.

A donation of $5 per household is requested, and registration is required in order to ensure enough materials. Participants will also need to provide their own hammer.

Kellogg Environmental Center, at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (Route 34) in Derby, can be contacted by calling 203/734-2513.
