Yoga At Waterbury Hospital
Yoga At Waterbury Hospital
WATERBURY â Hatha yoga for beginners is being taught at Waterbury Hospital by members of the faculty of Woodbury Yoga Center. Hatha yoga is a series of gentle, stretching exercises designed to strengthen, then relax and revitalize the body, mind, and spirit.
Instructors will lead a series of exercises, teach correct breathing, and guide relaxation techniques â all to assist in the process of untangling the myriad of knots stored within each studentâs physical and emotional being.
Hatha yoga tunes the glandular and nervous systems, limbers the spine, increases circulation, and tones internal muscles and organs. Students leave classes feeling relaxed, refreshed, and revitalized.
There will be two separate series of classes being offered. The seven-week series will be on Wednesdays, September 6, 13, and 27, and October 4; and Fridays, September 22 and October 13 and 20. All classes will meet 6 to 7:30 pm. Cost is $85.
A four-week series is also being offered, meeting Saturdays, September 9 through October 7 (no classes September 16), from 9:30 to 11 am each week. Cost for the four-week series is $55. Call Woodbury Yoga Center, 263-2254, for registration or more information on classes. Contact Waterbury Hospital, at 203/573-7385, for directions and free parking locations.
