Stella Woodin

Stella Woodin, 90, of 31 Staples Street, Danbury, died at Hancock Hall Nursing Home on January 29.

She was born in Newtown August 2, 1909, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Wojciechowski) Karcheski. She was a graduate of Newtown High School. Mrs Woodin moved to the Hartford area in the late 1940s and resided there until she moved to Danbury four years ago.

 She is survived by three brothers, Stanley Karcheski of Brookfield, Bernard Karcheski of Meriden, and Alfred Karcheski of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Rose Church, Newtown on February 2. Burial took place in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Hanohoe Memorial Children’s Clinic, 205 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
