Fraser Woods Students Release Trout At Dickinson Park
Fraser Woods Montessori School students and math teacher Zach Brown released trout into a stream at Dickinson Memorial Park on Friday, June 19.
According to Mr Brown, the trout arrived as eggs at the school in October, and students at Fraser Woods Montessori School oversaw the trout’s growth. Middle school students at the school did water testing activities, among other things, and the younger students also participated in activities with the trout.
Mr Brown estimated that 44 trout were released into the stream at Dickinson Memorial Park .
Trout Unlimited's Doug Peterson was on hand to supervise the release, and said the Trout In The Classroom program provided the trout eggs from the state’s hatcheries.
Students took turns gently releasing the trout from buckets.
