Hattie B. Hechler

Hattie B. (Shablewski) Hechler, 92, of Holiday City section of Berkeley Township, N.J., died on January 14 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J.

She was the mother of Arthur W. Hechler of Newtown.

She was a secretary/bookkeeper with Levy Brothers, a private brokerage firm, in New York City for many years prior to her retirement 25 years ago. Born in Jersey City, N.J., she had lived in Union City prior to moving to Holiday City in 1977.

She was a member of St Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River, N.J.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Arthur.

She is also survived by another son, Robert Hechler of Rhinebeck, N.Y.; one daughter, Katherine (Hechler) Gardes of Tenafly, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on January 17 at St Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River, N.J. Burial followed at Mt Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, N.J.

The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, St Catherine Boulevard, Toms River, N.J., was in charge of arrangements
