ON THE ROAD WITH SHANNON HICKS

BETTER THAN EZRA's 17-date tour begins tonight. The band still has tickets

available for its show next weekend when it pulls into Hartford. BTE plays The

Webster Theatre on Saturday, September 18.

BIG BAD VOODOO DADDY is one of the newest additions to the Fox Theatre

schedule at Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard. The band will be there on October 1

for a 9 pm show. Tickets for the concert are $27.50 and $38.50 apiece.

Interestingly, the band will then be performing on a stage at The Big E the

following night that is sponsored by Connecticut's other casino. Big Bad

Voodoo Daddy performs on the Mohegan Sun Stage of New England's biggest fair

on October 2 at 8 pm. Admission to that show is included with the purchase of

a ticket into the fair itself.

Good and bad news for lovers of music from the Eighties. The good news is

something called The Resurrection Tour is featuring the English bands MISSION

UK, THE ALARM and GENE LOVES JEZEBEL. The bad news is right now the tour is

not scheduled to stop in Connecticut. But for anyone willing to make a trip

over the north or south state line, here's the scoop: The Resurrection Tour

will be at The Avalon in Boston on October 16 and then at Irving Plaza in New

York City on the 18th.

Finally, a reminder that the 6th Annual Gasball Music Festival will already be

here next weekend. The music starts at noon on Saturday, September 18, at the

CityCenter Green. The music goes on until midnight and with the bands

performing within the green's bandshell, the event goes on rain or shine.

Admission to the festival is free of charge. Refreshments will be sold, and

additional vendors will also be set up with T-shirts, recordings and other

goodies.

Among this year's performers are LITMUS, THE HERETICS, BLUE, DAMIEN PRATT and

FRO. If you'd like additional information, Gasball organizers can be reached

at 792-3546 or 836-8273.

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
