Motorcycle DWI
Police said they received a report of a motorcycle accident about 9:30 pm April 28 on Huntingtown Road.
On arriving at the scene, police found that motorcyclist Christopher S. Nicholson, 25, of Monroe had been involved in a one-vehicle accident in which he had injured his arm. Nicholson received treatment for his injury at the scene from the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, but refused transport to Danbury Hospital, police said.
Police said they gave Nicholson field sobriety tests, which he failed. Police charged Nicholson with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with faulty tires, failure to carry automotive insurance, and failure to notify the motor vehicle department of a change of address.
After processing, police released Nicholson for a May 17 appearance in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Warrant Served
Police report they served a warrant April 29 against Joseph J. Paliotti, 27, of Mt Pleasant Road listing charges second-degree failure to appear in court and third-degree assault.
The assault charge stems from a May 1999 incident, police said. Police released Paliotti on a $500 bond for a May 9 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
 I-84 Crash
State police report a three-car accident in a road construction area on westbound Interstate-84, west of Exit 10, about 2 pm April 25.
Motorist Vern Scatliffe, 33, of Danbury, who was driving a 1997 Nissan sedan, drove into the rear end of a 1995 Hyundai coupe driven by Edward A. Martinoli, 47, of Bethlehem, pushing the Hyundai into the rear end of a 1998 Chevrolet coupe driven by Peter L. Litchfield, 33, of Brooklyn, Conn., state police said.
The three-car collision occurred as traffic was slowing for construction work.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Litchfield and Martinoli to Danbury Hospital after they complained of pain. Both men were treated and released, state police said.
State police said Scatliffe was following too closely and was operating a motor vehicle without automotive insurance.
MV Charges
Police report they charged Walter Johnson, 52, of Danbury May 3 with speeding and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension on Swamp Road. Johnson posted a $100 bond for a May 18 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
