Audubon Offers Summer Camp Scholarships

 SOUTH BRITAIN — The Audubon Center at Bent of the River, through the generosity of the Lillinonah Audubon Society (LAS), is offering scholarships for children interested in attending Audubon Summer Day Camp.

Scholarships are available for all three-day camp programs –– Audubon Naturalists, Watershed Wizards or EcoDiscoverers — for children entering fourth though eighth grades.

Each camp session is five days, Monday through Friday. During the weeks of July 5, 11, 18, and 25, two of the programs are available: the Audubon Naturalist Day Camp for children entering grades 4 and 5, and the EcoDiscoverer Day Camp for children entering grades 6 through 8.

During the weeks of August 1 and 8, children entering grades 5 and 6 can attend the Watershed Wizard Day Camp.

Camp registration forms and scholarship information are available by calling the Audubon Center at 264-0598. Forms should be submitted by June 1 to reserve a space in the day camp of your choice. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarship applications should be submitted along with the registration forms.

The Audubon Center at Bent of the River is  at 185 East Flat Hill Road in South Britain, about a half mile from Connecticut Route 172.
