Equine Health Course At Post

WATERBURY — Another course in he series of six accelerated equine husbandry evening classes of-fered by Post University will start on Monday, August 31 in MacDermid Hall (Room 103) on the main Waterbury campus from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

The course will cover many areas vital for any horse caregiver to know how to recognize early problems and give first aid treatments for all types of wounds. The course will provide information on dis-ease prevention (such as appropriate vaccinations) and proper nursing care. Also discussed will be how to give medications, what the veterinarian needs to know, how to deal with colic and lameness, and many other important points that will help to keep a horse healthy.

Courses may be taken in any order and are open to anyone interested – no pre-requisites are required.  Each unit will run for eight weeks, one evening per week for three hours. The campus is off exit 17 off I-84 – park in North Lot on Country Club Road. For personal enrichment, the cost is $350 per unit. To earn CEU credits, the cost is $500.
