Sonia Slagan Koziol, 71, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Terry S. Koziol, died September 3, in St Vincentâs Medical Center. Born and raised in Scranton, Penn., she was the daughter of the late Alex and Anna Kushner Slagan.
Her memory will be cherished by her family, including daughter Donna White, and her husband Steve, of Newtown; three grandchildren, three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. She lived in Fairfield, where she enjoyed spending time with her three children and three grandchildren.
In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs Koziol was a retired electronic technician who worked in the Micro-Electronic Lab at Nordens in Norwalk. She was fond of reading, sewing, surfing the Internet, and was especially interested in her current project: researching her familyâs genealogy. She was an active member of St Vincentâs Medical Center Patient and Family Advisory Board, and The Red Hat Society. She was also a professional dancer and dance instructor, helping raise money for various charities.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 10, at 11 am, in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home of Fairfield Center.
