Tara Gaston Earns Soccer Honors At Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, PENN. – Gettysburg College senior soccer player Tara Gaston, a graduate of Newtown High School, was recently named All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention and Academic All-District Third Team.

After being named First-Team All-Conference as a defender in 2007 and 2008, Gaston landed her third all-league accolade at a new position as an attacking midfielder. She took to the new position quickly, starting all 17 matches and finishing second on the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists. A team captain for the second consecutive year, she tallied three game-winning goals, including the only goal in a 1-0 overtime victory at York College on October 15. Tara, who is majoring in biology, is the daughter of Stephanie and Jim Gaston of Newtown.
