Two Lions Honored With Outstanding Service

Lions Club of Newtown members Jon Christensen and Peter McNulty recently received the Knight of the Blind Award. The Knight of the Blind Award is granted by the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation for outstanding service to the Newtown Club and the state of Connecticut.

Jon Christensen is a past president of the Newtown club, serving from July 2005 through June 2007.

Mr Christensen also has been chairman of the Car Committee, is currently on the Duck Race Committee, and is advisor for the Leo Club at Newtown High School. He has been with Newtown Lions Club since 2000.

Peter McNulty is currently the administrative treasurer for the club. He designed and maintains the club website. He is on the Duck Race Committee, keeping track of ticket sales, and is on the Car Committee, in charge of E-ticket sales. He joined the club in 2002.
