Janet Cassity, 100, formerly of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died September 19 in Ashlar of Newtown. Mrs Cassity was the wife of the late Dr John Cassity who was the Head of Dental Services at Fairfield Hills Hospital.

Mrs Cassity was born on April 8, 1905 in Rochester, N.Y. She was a librarian at Fairfield Hills Hospital for many years and was a member of the Newtown Garden Club.

She is survived by a son, Laurence Cassity of Daytona Beach, Fla., and a daughter, Maureen Cassity of Danbury.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, September 23, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.
