Helping Seniors Protect Privacy

BETHEL — On August 29, the Connecticut VNA will host a discussion, “Senior Savvy – Protecting Your Privacy,” featuring Lynne Grant of the University of Connecticut’s Extension in Bethel. The discussion will be held at 1 pm at the Brookfield Senior Center, 100 Pocono Road, in conjunction with blood pressure screening and refreshments provided by the Connecticut VNA.

“Today’s technology has moved so rapidly, it’s difficult for most of us to keep up with it,” Ms Grant said. “Our seniors are doing a pretty good job of learning what’s going on, but they also need to have technology decoded so they have information they can use. That’s the gap we are working to fill; and we enjoy the opportunity to work with other social organizations in our area to bring this knowledge to the widest possible audience.”

“The Connecticut VNA doesn’t view itself as simply an agency to facilitate home health care,” commented Janice Danyew, director of patient operations at the Brookfield office of the Connecticut VNA. “If we can use our programs to bring good ideas to the community, we’re happy to do that, too.”

With 12 offices throughout the state., Connecticut VNA provides a full range of home health care to patients of all ages and financial circumstances. As an affiliate of Masonicare, it is part of one of the largest health care organizations in the state.
