Ham It Up: Improv For Children
Ham It Up:
Improv For Children
RIDGEFIELD â Children ages 4 to 6 are invited to join Aldrich Museum educator Melanie Zalman and unleash their silliness and enter the land of make-believe in The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Artâs sculpture garden on Friday, July 28, from 10 am to noon.
Improvisation is a unique outlet for children to awaken the senses and learn how to make the most of their developing communication skills. Using their voices, movement, energy and spontaneity, the young participants will improvise and perform freely as they combine life experiences with a generous dose of imagination. Parents of the young artists are invited to attend.
Melanie Zalman will lead the new series of creative workshops designed to nurture the creative development of children ages 4 to 6. Miss Zalman is coordinator of the nationally-recognized âStudent Docent Program,â âAldrich Ambassadorsâ and the internship program at the museum. She has also participated in community-based musical theater for over ten years, including youth performing arts programs at the Shubert Theater and the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven.
Reservations are required, and the cost for the work-_shop is $12 per child. Call the museum at 203/438-4519 for reservations. The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art is at 258 Main Street/_Route 35.
