A Ringing Success

To the Editor:

Once again, on behalf of the Newtown Service Unit of the Salvation Army, we would like to thank all who participated in our annual Bell Ringing efforts. Despite the fact we were down several volunteers, had to close one place up all day and three others early, through the generosity of so many, we raised $9,290.99!! Unbelievable, and so important as 90 percent of the money raised actually stays in Newtown.

Thank you to The Newtown Bee, Shannon Hicks, and Nancy Crevier for their wonderful coverage of all our efforts.

The following businesses allowed us space: Dunkin’ Donuts, Stop & Shop, Yankee Discount Wine & Liquor, Pizza Palace, Newtown Drug Center, Newtown Hardware, Sandy Hook Plaza (Ed Raymond) and George at the Blue Colony Diner.
