An Afternoon At The Pops, A_Celebration To Enjoy
DANBURY â Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of guest conductor Arnie Gross, will perform on Sunday, November 5, at 3 pm, at Colorado Brewery, 6 Delay Street. The gala concert will feature light, tuneful classics in an informal cabaret setting complete with hors dâoeuvres and refreshments.
Reminiscent of âPopsâ concerts made famous by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops, the afternoon concert will inaugurate Danbury Music Centreâs 65th season. Among the many well-known musical selections will be the âHora Staccato,â which will be performed by Danbury Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Han deLoos.
Guest conductor Arnie Gross is well-known in New York City as a Broadway conductor and performer. He is also a well-known arranger of theater and film music and was the chief arranger for the United States Military Band for three years. He is currently the personnel manager of Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra and is secretary of Local 87 American Federation of Musicians.
Tickets are $20 per person on the main level and $30 per person in the balcony. Seating will be at table rounds of eight or theater style. Hors dâoeuvres, which are included in the ticket price, will be served beginning at 2:15 pm when doors open and during intermission. There will be a cash bar.
Pre-purchased tables of eight will be reserved in the partyâs name. All other ticket holders will be seated on a first come, first served basis.
