Hospital Sells Valentine Pins

DANBURY — The Danbury Hospital Development Fund, Inc, is selling “A Gift of the Heart” pendants and pins for Valentine’s Day to benefit the new Regional Heart and Vascular Center at Danbury Hospital.

The jewelry includes 14K gold pendants and pins, available in either yellow or white gold, unadorned or accented with diamonds.

Designed by Newtown resident Ana Cristina Herrick, wife of Danbury Hospital psychiatrist Charles Herrick, MD, these pieces are custom-crafted by Jewelry Designs of Danbury. Prices range from $145 for the plain gold pin or pendant to $835 for the full diamond pendant with chain.

“Members of the communities served by Danbury Hospital strongly supported our quest to bring advanced cardiac care to western Connecticut and nearby New York State. These pieces commemorate our success in reaching our goal,” said Grace Linhard, vice president of the hospital’s development fund.

The hospital opened its Regional Heart and Vascular Center last week, completing its first three open heart surgeries and enabling patients to receive these services locally rather than being transferred to other hospitals.

For more information about the jewelry, contact the Danbury Hospital Development Fund at 797-7227 or visit Jewelry Designs at 86 Mill Plain Road in Danbury.
