Seahawks Capture Title

With less than two weeks remaining before their trip to Orlando for Nationals, Newtown’s Megan Goyda and Katie Laaksonen led the Seahawks’ fast-pitch softball team to a first-place finish in the ASA Jungle Jamboree in West Hartford, this past week.

The Seahawks mercy-ruled every team they faced on Sunday, including an 8-0 victory over the Central Connecticut Comets in the finals. The team has qualified for PONY, ASA, and USSSA National tournaments and holds a No. 2 power ranking among USSSA Class ‘A’ 12U teams participating in Orlando.
