Help Newtown’s Daria Musk Capture Her Lilith Fair Debut

The famed all-female-fronted Lilith Fair Tour is set to return this summer and will be landing in Hartford on August 1.

The festival, founded by Grammy Award-winning artist Sarah McLachlan along with Dan Fraser, Marty Diamond and Terry McBride, was one of the highest-grossing festivals in the world during its original 1997-1999 run, creating a “celebration of women in music” that played a part in launching the careers of emerging talent of the time like Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, and Tegan and Sara.

The goal of providing opportunities for young female musicians is still front and center for Lilith’s newest incarnation and they will be showcasing exciting new female musicians in every city.

To find the most worthy young acts, The Lilith 2010 tour has announced a partnership with OurStage.com, the music discovery destination dedicated to new artist and new music discovery. Lilith and OurStage have launched the “Lilith Local Talent Search,” a contest to find the next best emerging female musicians across North America. One winner will be chosen for each city the tour visits.

The contest is open for public voting until May 24. Connecticut-area music fans can visit www.OurStage.com to sign up and vote in the Hartford contest as often as they desire throughout the voting period to help Daria win a spot at The Lilith Fair Tour’s Hartford date.

Among the contestants for the Hartford show is Newtown’s own Daria Musk. All she needs is the support of local fans who can vote for her online through May 24. Daria has plucked a lively brand new song, called “Ghost,” off of her forthcoming album as her Lilith Contest entry.

Music fans and Connecticut-area residents who want a pre-release sample of the album’s fresh sound can visit OurStage.com/go/lilith, and vote for Daria via the OurStage system.

To support Daria’s quest to appear alongside McLaughlin, the Indigo Girls, Selena Gomez, Carly Simon and other at Lilith in Hartford August 1, sign up as fan and begin judging the Hartford Lilith Local Talent Search.

The OurStage system will randomly pull up eligible songs to rate. When Daria’s song comes up, rank her #1 to push her up the charts and help her win the Hartford contest slot.

As of press time, “Ghost” was rapidly climbing the charts and was within the top 15 in the OurStage Lilith Local Talent Search’s Hartford Contest.

Daria has already played her way onto the stages of international festivals like South By Southwest (SXSW), CMJ, and The Gathering of The Vibes. For more information visit DariaMusk.com.
