Swimming In Support Of The American Red Cross

To the Editor:

New Orleans, along with many other southern cities and states, has recently been devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Thousands and thousands of people have lost homes and loved ones to this deadly storm. Luckily, there are things we can do to help and this is just one small step in helping these victims.

On October 23 at the Newtown High School pool, we will be hosting a swim-a-thon to raise money to help the American Red Cross and the people in need. The fee to enter is $10 along with any other donations you receive from family members or friends. It is a great way to have fun and help those in need at the same time. We strongly encourage you to raise as much money as you can and participate.
