Found Items

Police have added two items to their inventory of found goods.

On July 5, a Sony-brand Cyber Shot camera was found with some family photos at Dickinson Park on Elm Drive.

On July 3, pairs of prescription eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses were found near the police station at 3 Main Street.

The owners may claim the items by contacting Sergeant Darlene Froehlich at 426-5841.

Motor Vehicle Accident

About 9:15 am on July 8, motorist Toni Nowotny, 22, of Monroe was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus sedan westward on Berkshire Road, at its intersection with Wasserman Way, and then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Dodge was hit from behind by westbound motorist Theodore Gissen, 20, of 35 Horseshoe Ridge Road, who was driving a 2000 Audi A-6 sedan, police report.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Gissen a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
