Home Applications Now Open

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is currently accepting applications for three homes to be built in Danbury.  Each single-family home will range in size from two to four bedrooms.

Applicant families must have a household income between $35,000 and $68,000 to qualify. Each selected family will help construct their own home along with Habitat volunteers. The families will be selected based on their level of need, their ability to repay the no interest loan, and their willingness to become partners with Habitat.

 There will be informational meetings and applications for prospective homeowners at St James Episcopal Church, 25 West Street, Danbury, on Thursday, April 27, 7 to 9 pm; Tuesday, May 2, 7 to 9 pm; and Saturday, May 6, 10  am to noon.

Applications should bring: copies of their two most recent federal income tax forms; copies of two paycheck stubs; copies of latest credit card bills; copies of latest utility bills not included in rent; copy of latest bank statement; and copy of documentation of nonemployment income.
