Newtown Resident To Judge At
National Championship
On December 4â5, the best in the sport of purebred dogs will flock to Long Beach, Calif., to strut their stuff at the prestigious AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. Local resident Patricia W. Laurans will be among the judges picking the showâs top winners.Â
A judge for 29 years, Ms Laurans will judge the Hound Group. In previous years she has had numerous assignments for this AKC show, as well as for the Westminster Kennel Club show, which is held at Madison Square Garden in February. Heading the panel as Best in Show judge for the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship is Jean Fournier, a former resident of Connecticut who now resides in Georgia.
The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship is the largest prize money dog show in the world, with cash and prizes awarded totaling more than $225,000. This prestigious competition is invitation-only.
